I think the only reason they're still friends with Shauna and help her is being trauma boned together over things that did happen in the wilderness. She was a member of the core group of the soccer team too, before the crash. Sometimes, people just stay out of habit. They weren't close enough to see each other on the regular at the time and now they are, so that's why we're seeing them together more.
