See AllGreta Gerwig Adapting Narnia Prequel Instead Of Original Books, Says Jason Isaacs
Three? Tell me you haven't read the books or paid very close attention during the first two movies without telling me you haven't read the books or pay very close attention during the first two movies. Two Sons of Adam and two Daughters of Eve.
Why The Chronicles Of Narnia Books Were Banned
Pretty certain that I've read s of conversation between of The Inklings in The Eagle and Child (AKA The Bird and Baby) pub where Tolkien criticizes Lewis for his biblical allegory being too pronounced in TCoN and Lewis in turn criticizes Tolkien for his intended biblical allegory in TLotR being so subtle as to be all but undetectable.
I.e., both were intended to contain Christian allegory from the get-go.
Tolkien led Lewis back to Christ from Atheism, but only as far as Church of England Protestantism (Anglicanism) and, to his great regret, not as far as his own Roman Catholicism.
For even more bold-faced allegory and denunciation of Secular Humanism and Postmodernism, read Lewis's Space Trilogy in which Tolkien features as the hero "Ransom", who is also an Oxford Don in philology. Ransom (Tolkien) was my hero to such a degree that when I legally changed my name, my middle names were those of my two heroes, "Puddleglum Ransom". Read the conversation/debate midway through (Ch 11, more like 3/4ths) the second book, Perelandra, where The Voice tells him that it was not for nothing that he was named Ransom. His philologists' mind rebels as he's always known it meant "Ranolf's Son" until further in the conversation The Voice tells him, "I too was named Ransom." and stiffens his failing courage for the purpose for which he had been brought to Venus (Perelandra).
I cannot read this age without tears and for that reason intentionally read it. Aslan, was sacrificed as Christ on the Stone Table. In turn, Maleldil's Son asks Ransom to be willing, even if he fails, to battle The Unman (previously the scientist Weston, now indwelt by Satan fully), as His avatar which was his purpose in being brought to Perelandra.
