See AllThe Rookie Season 7 Finale Review: After A Lackluster Season, The Forgettable Finale Fails To Make Me Excited For What's To Come In Season 8
I liked this season, too! I definitely liked it better than seasons 5 and 6. I'm happy for variety and fair number of stand alone episodes while still developing certain plots across seasons. I do wish we got baited a little more thoroughly in Monica's return. A few more brief mentions of Oscar throughout the season would have been good--capturing him would have been good, too, but I am open to the possibility of wondering even better in store. I do wish we got a little farther with Chenford this season... Even if drawing out this night shift dynamic for two episodes and having more conversations (with each other or with other characters) and frustration, to develop this moment while still setting up a serious go at a relationship next season.
But these are very minor complaints... I like all the variety we got this season, the addition of Miles, the Seth story arc, Randy's return, some nice Bailey action and several opportunities to showcase Nolan's exceptional character; Glassner was nice with multiple episodes without dominating a whole season (maybe one extra episode would have been nice? But I also just wish all the seasons could be longer because I just want more).
