I love this show. Hope ratings will improve after football is over. The original NCIS also got off to a slow start many years ago but was discovered through reruns. Watching one episode of Orgins I was hooked! If a new watcher will binge the 1st half of the season, I think others will see how great this show is!

Mark Harmon’s appearance is absolutely needed to continue to tie the established Gibbs to the young Gibbs. My greatest fear is that MH’s involvement will become less and less. If that happens, it becomes just another show. I hope the writers continue to realize that many, many fans need that connection. As long as MH is willing, use him MORE, not less!

I think you are overreaching! Depression cycles and although one may seem at peace during the light of day memories come flooding back at unexpected times. At night, alone by the fire might be one of the more expected times for memories to flood back. Another thought —— he could be at peace with Shannon and Kelly’s death but feel the need to tell other’s stories, as he said about Lala. Whatever the premise, I love NCIS Origins and love Mark Harmon’s narration even more! Justifying Gibbs final scene with McGee with his narration in Origins is not important to me. It never occurred to me that it was a problem with anyone until I read your article!
