MI2 is underrated. Somehow or another, 3 seems to be as well. The first one, on the other hand, while I grudgingly like it, is overrated. I will never forgive the writer's/producers for turning Phelps into a bad guy. Effing stupid and totally unnecessary. Disrespectful to the original series and cast.

Season 3 is woefully underappreciated. Fantastic acting and chemistry between the performers, arguably the deepest sense of pathos and poignancy of any TD season, and an underrated story.

These are all great movies. It is, however, silly to phrase it that the atmosphere is scarier than the movie itself. Even setting aside the atmosphere, each movie is in its own way creepy and scary, and besides, atmosphere is a part of "the movie itself!"

I thought longlegs was very good up until the last half an hour, at which point it completely fell apart. The first two thirds are as good as I'd hoped from Oz Perkins, who's blackcoat's daughter is one of the most underrated horror movies of the last decade. Unlike that one, I won't be re-watching a longlegs repeatedly. Disappointing.

This is a weird list. It includes totally not underrated movies, like the original Nosferatu, which is actually one of the two or three most heralded vampire movies of all time. It includes wildly overrated movies like 30 Days of Night, well regarded but certainly under-watched gems like Only Lovers Left Alive, and one I've never heard of and look forward to watching, the last one on the list.

Nice Guys is one of the best comedies of the past decade, mystifyingly underrated and overlooked. It's one of Crowe's most overlooked performances, and also one of his and Ryan Gosling's most underrated movies and performances. It's hilarious and, when all is said and done, has loads of heart.
