Love this mate, felt the same way, not everything has to be a billion dollar hit and this movie is proof of tha, loved you mentioning cap 1s reviews, people don’t realise that cap 1 was not reviewed much better, the early mcu wasn’t really a big thing till infinity war/emgame hype went global and brought in fake new fans who are the real problem with current mcu. Because every book is a standalone adventure there are few references to other books in the whole series. It’s brilliant planning from Lee child makes it possible to pick up the books in wrong order (which uninformed people do) and not be confused and leads into picking up other books! Adapting books outta order has no effect on storytelling except the usual changes being made from book to screen

She’s the only real recurring character though, she appears in four books and mentioned in one. Pretty much every other character doesn’t get mentioned or seen again with some other small exceptions

Streaming services are the cause. They expect us to wait several years. Tv channels like cbs for example are still sticking to the old school release schedule but streaming doesn’t, thankfully over the last few years they’ve been working on reducing season gaps with heaps of shows and hopefully more soon
