Whoa...excellent catch. I didn't even think about that fact that it was a firefighter suit!! I knew Bernard wasn't going to make it, but they still managed to surprise me in a couple of ways despite knowing what's in the books. Good season overall.

Bernard is making things bad for himself. I think citizens would be more inclined to stay inside if he was just forthcoming with what's going on outside. People know when they're being lied to and the need to disprove something is the fuel for a rebellion. Bernard may just be pawn but I would hope he's smart enough to know that. He's human and I'm sure he wants out too but what I imagine keeps him going is knowing the truth about outside.

"the display is a lie." In making the cleaners think it's beautiful outside, it gives them a nice final moment while also enticing them to clean. Bernard didn't change the visual. Normally the cleaner is dead before the image runs out so they never see the outside world. I think the season will heat up nicely after these 2 episodes. I'm so excited!
