I didn't care much for the action in 2, but I did enjoy the chase sequence when Ambrose came in, as well as the final fight. But the best part, was the cliff climbing at the beginning, and the switcheroo between Hunt and Ambrose's bodyguard. The music in both those scenes was also a highlight. I also enjoyed the title sequence, it distinguishes itself from the rest, like Ghost Protocol did.

The series was actually pretty good. I get your review. But getting a direct retelling of the games was never gonna happen. Plus, the games aren't exactly a direct retelling of the manga either. Story liberties are nothing new, and if you turn off that part of you that wants to see the games animated, you may actually enjoy it.

Well the animation style may be a letdown, but only if you get really nitpicky about it (odd 3D elements). And some of the character designs, I don't like (the demons didn't look menacing enough for me, especially Echidna and Caveliere Angelo). I don't think the sound design gets enough commendation though. That's always been a strength of DMC games, and I like how that carried over to the series.

A gripe I have, which is tiny, but not really, are the voices for Dante, Lady and Vergil (same feeling I had with Vergil in DMC5). And I feel like Dante was too nerfed in this series, DMC 3 was adept in showing his raw power without him coming across as OP or broken. Him getting contained by the military didn't feel right for me. I like how they showed Lady as a capable tactician though, but I feel like they could show that without nerfing Dante. The power scaling as a whole is weird and inconsistent, but that's always been the case I guess.

As a big fan of DMC, I'm excited to see more of this series, by a big fan as well.

Stronger than Nolan? Not even. Not yet anyways.

Mark barely won that fight. If it weren't for Eve's intervention and Conquest's playing around, Mark would've died probably 3 times over.
