My point is that clearly, exceptions exist to the helmet rule, and there are protocols to sanction those exceptions. Plenty of room for a writer like Filoni to do what needs to be done with getting Pedro some face time on screen :-)

We enjoyed season two. The storylines are compelling, and Charlue Vickers is turning Sauron into a far more interesting and complex character than he was (or could be, by necessity) in Peter Jackson's films.

The amount of hate being piled onto RoP here is . . . interesting. I'm not sure I could get so enraged over a creative work, unless I had a direct connection to it somehow. ion consumes energy and attention, and both are scarce commodities that one commits to a project usually by denying them to some other project. Spending both to trash-talk Amazon Prime Video seems about as productive as kicking a stone wall to teach it a lesson.

TV today can be a lot of fun to watch. The streaming platforms are doing things with the medium that would have been considered impossible 30 years ago. Lots to love there, but, yes, there's also stuff that IMO is mystifyingly bad. Knowing where to find the OFF button solves these problems 100 percent of the time.

Plus, nobody ever earned a reputation for being smart, charming, or persuasive by sitting behind a keyboard and hurling insults they wouldn't dare to use in person. It's never a good look.

A small detail, maybe, but Elrond kissing Galadriel shouldn't be viewed as infidelity, or as romantic on any level. It was purely tactical -- a way for Eltond to misdirect Adar and the Orcs while he slipped Galadriel that lock pick.

This is fascinating. Did either Tolkien ever do an "off-duty" or watering hole narrative where beings on opposite sides of these cosmic brawls put down the melee weapons and at least shared the same space, even if they didn't exactly have a pint together?
