I agree. I'm not arguing that it's historically accurate (but if you're going to use the word Vikings then you should probably make them accurate or call them something different). I'm arguing that the movie needs to be made accurate to the animated film. But at this point I've lost all faith in Hollywood so I'm just going to enjoy the movie and try not to dwell too much on the characters
