People sort of miss the fact that Gwen was not only Peter’s first love, but in some aspects she was his true love.

Her death is a defining point in his character arc and without that he would not be the Spider-Man we all know and love.

Even Mary Jane knows that. One of my favorite stories was basically Peter writing a letter to Gwen catching her up and letting his heart out. MJ catches him but doesn’t get mad. She knows. She just looks at him from the door way and says she misses her too.

Cue real life tear down my cheek.

Sure, let’s take a guy with an ego so big he single handedly destroyed an entire franchise and almost an entire cinematic universe … And let’s squeeze him into the MCU. No thank you.
