Here's an idea: Back in the Silver Age, DC had Superman and Jimmy Olsen take on crime in the Bottle City of Kandor as Nightwing and Flamebird, who were essentially Kandor's Batman and Robin. This was the inspiration for Dick Grayson taking on the name Nightwing in the first place.

Why not have Jon Kent take on the name "Flamebird" to honor his Kryptonian heritage and set him up as a potential partner for Nightwing? I think readers would love it if Dick Grayson took on a mentor role with Jon Kent.
