You do realize that the parallels are deliberate and Gaston being the real villain was deliberate. The point of the curse is to punish a greedy aristocratic household, which at the time was intended for this wealthy child who may have been taught to be selfish when he has a wealth that can be shared. All the servants getting cursed to be the furniture, I think is worse than being a beast. The servants were most definitely not a part of the greed mindset, which to me, makes it worse cursing innocents.
