Nani is NINETEEN. Lilo isn't "sent away," she moved five feet next door with a longtime family friend — still ohana. Nani deserves to get to live life as a 19 year old. She should get to go to college where she wants, go to the club and live her youth. She is still getting to see Lilo, and with alien tech it is even easier for her to visit Lilo.

It just feels a little unfair to pin the whole message on Nani when she is also just a girl who lost her parents. The main reason she was okay with leaving is beacause she knew she was setting her up with family.
