While I still don't see the point in making a live-action remake (or any kind of remake) of one of my favorite films, I might end up "biting the bullet," and giving the remake a chance. There'd better be some new material. Don't let this be like the atrocious remake of "Psycho," which was nothing but a poorly-acted, shot-for-shot, word-for-word rehash of the original.
