One of the most evil sith darth nililus fed it and himself with a whole race of beings of force seerers. Why you ask well simply they were allies with the jedi and could veiw event with their force sight.

If it's just hungry couldn't of you feed it with lust, desire ,and hedonism? Those are more powerful emotions to humans then pain, fear ,and death.
