Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan's Story Only Happens Because Starfleet Makes A Big Mistake
Their 2nd biggest mistake was to have both of their command officers beam down to a planet. Usually the First Officer and Security Personnel make the journey. Even now "Away Missions" are carried out with their most valuable asset on the ship out of potential harms way. There were a lot of mistakes that needed to happen in order to make Star Trek II: TWOK work. Even with it's oversights TWOK is still Trek at its best.

Dave Bautista’s Rejected Fast & Furious Role Would've Led To A Crossover We All Want To See
Bautista, has been very public about not wanting to do a movie, with The Rock, Jon Cena or any wrestler turned actor. He considers his wrestling past to be just that the past. He doesn't want to use his past by buddying up with Wrestlers. He's been k ow to say he doesn't want to blur the line between the actor and the former wrestler. Why Star Trek: The Next Generation's Enterprise Had A Rarely-Seen Second Bridge
I agree. That leads me to another question. Why aren't Starfleet vessels equipped to allow certain systems, such as the shields, weapons and engineering operations, (namely the ejection systems) be independently powered? Meaning in the event of an attack, the command crew could regroup on the Battle Bridge and if a core breach is achieved. There would be back up generators that would
allow the crew to complete repairs or dump the core, (if that is the only option). I am so tired of hearing.
RIKER: We have to eject the core!
DATA: Ejection systems are off line.
Have them be tied into main power, but able to access those back up generators after reconvening on the Battle Bridge! With that the Enterprise D wouldn't have went down in a blaze of glory like we witnessed in Star Trek: Generations.
Having those things sounds like common sense, but as we all know Common sense ain't common.
