See AllStar Wars Breaks Another George Lucas Rule, Introducing Something We Haven't Seen In The Franchise's 48 Year History
I agree with Robyn... what about the goggles on Hoth. Or what about Maz Kanata's spectacles? Granted, they were not your ordinary eye glasses but still clearly an optical aid for her to see. While i appreciate the sentiment of this being a first, I'm not completely in agreement that this rule hasn't already been bent to the point of borderline breakage.
Disney Must Face 1 Harsh Reality About Its Pirates Of The Caribbean Franchise
Whats funny is reading this, they say Capt Jack Sparrow lost our intrest by the 5th film. Yet, most of what I'm seeing in the comments say WE WANT JOHNNY BACK! I too, will refuse to watch anything but Johnny Depp when it comes to POTC. There's really no way to move forward with the franchise without him. Disney could always form an entire new Pirate franchise. Like Black Sails (not Disney) which was phenomenal but then it takes away from POTC. It would have to be completely separate. I think that's the ONLY way Disney could do anything involving Pirates and be successful other than bringing back Depp. Trust me, from a young whippersnapper my whole life has been about POTC. From the first time I rode the attraction. When Disneyland had those 'Disneyland Forever' kiosks that you could burn a cd in, mine was all Pirates of the Caribbean (and a few Haunted Mansion) tracks. So know it literally pains me to say this, but without Johnny Depp, in my eyes their only way forward is something completely different, not involving POTC at all. No Depp, no Pirates of the Caribbean.
