The Merry Gentlemen
I thought that the movie wasn't too bad. Xmas movies have an arc and v this one threw in some shirtless men. Apart from that it follows the standard formula. Girl moves from big city to small town. Immediately meets her love interest. Usual hijinks follow and the conversation. Could you ever see yourself settle down here in the small town? No I'm a big city girl. Returns to big city. Man devastated 💔 but girl returns and Christmas is saved after all!
I've just revealed the plot of every Xmas 🎬 movie. Sorry!

See AllDisney Is FINALLY Giving Me A Live-Action Remake Of Its Most Underrated Movie 22 Years Later - But It’s Not How I Expected
I've loved Treasure Island in all it's incarnations, with Skeleton Crew apparently being the latest incarnation. It's a classic tale written by a sickly child for children. If I correctly there was a sort of redemption for Long John Silver, he was able to go on with his pirate career with a lighter heart, having finally found his treasure island. No such luck for Jude Law.
Skeleton Crew Creators Reveal Why There Were No Star Wars Cameos & Address Future Mandalorian Crossover Potential
I didn't notice the lack of cameo's but I think I certainly would have noticed a jarring appearence of the Mandolorian or suddenly R2D2 serving drinks at the spa baths. It got on fine without cameos and often these are so forced it completely takes you out of the story!
12 Years After Disney Bought Lucasfilm, Star Wars' New TV Show Finally Understands What George Lucas' Saga Is All About
I thought, finally Star Wars has returned to it's roots. It was initally aimed as a kid's movie. In 1976 no adult watched science fiction movies, it was based on Buck Rogers adventures and had a princess, a knight, a hero and a scoundral. What all the adults who are moaning about this series being for children, forgot, is when they discovered Star Wars, they were children. Kids watch Star Wars for the characters and story, adults watch Star Wars for the effects and battle scenes and forget, the story isn't aimed at them. I think all the TV shows have been fairly decent and it was the big screen movies that lost their way. They seemed to be set up to have some thin plot to draw the action to the next big screen effects scene. Like that ridiculous casino sequence and the speeders plowing up the white dirt to expose this blood red soil. Not to forget the slow motion chase through space so Princess Leia could fly through space like a Barbie doll. I could go on with plenty more examples, but you get the point. The TV shows however have a bit more time to develop characters and plot and still have decent effects. I think that's why the non redemption of Jod was so surprising as the whole way through, I kept thinking, he's not really so bad and he has reasons. Nope, he was just bad. The pulling the switch and it destroys the barrier made me laugh out loud. Kids would love that! As only a child would actually build that system, or have a big robot in charge of all the other robots and then seem unable to defend itself. Silly, but great at the same time. I have to say, I really enjoyed this show. I've watched it twice already and will do a few more watches.
