See AllHas The Acolyte Episode 3 Broken Star Wars Canon?
I would agree that this is the episode that turns fans against this show. The producers are trying to shove check marked boxes down our throats and its understandable that there is backlash. As we have seen with Marvel, the fans don't want this material. Faverau and Filoni, and the writers of Andor, so far has been one of the only ones that are giving into fan service and it shows with the fervent fandom of the characters and viewings of their shows. There was a HUGE opportunity to show what the fans want. But we got this episode. The backstory is okay, but the acting is horrible. Child actors and SW's do not have a good track record. And this is a continuation of bad overacting.
The Acolyte Episode 3 Review: Philosophy Debates & Deep Character Work Make For Stellar Star Wars Entry
Lewis, come on man. This was NOT a "brilliant episode 3" like you make it seem. It is HORRIBLY acted. Please let's be honest here. Children actors and SW has a bad history of terrible or painful to watch acting. This episode is no different from others. It was excruciating at times to watch the acting in this episode. I feel for the kids as they try their best, but I think that is part of the problem. They are trying to hard to ACT and not let the material flow from themselves. The backstory was good and it fills in some unknown details. But they did ruin the momentum that had been building from Eps 1&2. Please do better and don't placate us readers/viewers. I'd rather that you all be honest in your writing than constantly shoving BS down our throats trying to convince us that this is the best thing ever. It's not. Just be honest.
