Stop looking at old things like movies or songs or shows through the "modern" lense. If course you are going to find something to be offended by even if it was a cultural norm of the times something was made. No one has the foresight to remove all "offensive" material that a future generation might get their feelings hurt over. IV was great and even that "insult" played right into Chekov's act. It was perfect.

Agreed. Christian is an adult with ASD. Social cues and the like are something he would struggle with and I felt that was very apparent in the rom scenes. Not sure what the deal is with the author of this. I felt it really did a lot to "sell" the ASD.

This very subject was actually covered in the book version of revenge of the sith. Been a while since I read it but it was not fear. Yoda peered into the future and saw it was not his fight to win. More tonit than that but he saw the outcome and what would mean for the order. So he chose to abandon the fight.
