I realize, legally, DC lost the trademark because that name sat idle for too long *, but he will ALWAYS be Captain Marvel to me
* Funny thing is, DC could have simply bought the rights for chump change to the character following the 1952 court case but did nothing. Then, in the 70s finally decided to. But, by then, Marvel had been keeping the name in some degree of publication so DC could call him Captain Marvel in the comic but not on any covers
DC decided to simply change his name to his magic word to just avoid any issue but now he is unable to identify himself without revealing his secret identity
