You know how they could easily handle this apparent discrepancy? At the end of the final episode, simply cut to a narrator talking to a group of Jedi younglings at the temple and have her say, "... and then I woke up!" See, it was all just a dream. Or, in the case of this abominable show, a horrific nightmare.
