Lobo was created before Slade Wilson/Deathstroke so how can it be a parody?

Before you come at me with Deathstroke came out in 1980 and Lobo in 1983... I have the original drawings by Keith Giffen that he used in the 70's as part of his portfolio to work in the industry.
