I'm not happy. Not because the TV series has moved away from the books but that they are so formulaic. Sometimes to the point of parody.
Series 1 was just about okay but S2 was awful.

It seems to me that the author of this article is reading too much into Skeleton Crew. It's very much a children's telly series based on Treasure Island using the Star Wars canon. As such it wasn't bad but then Disney has lots of form with children's films, it's films for grown-ups it struggles with.

I enjoyed the first two episodes. That said, I do feel that they were too American, they should be more international and not just American cliches. But I thought the child actors did well for all that.
I liked the twist on Treasure Island, very good.

I thought the first two episodes were very good indeed, up there with the best of Star Wars. The third episode was (and is) a great disappointment, but I do notice that it had a different director and different screen writers to the first two. I shall see what the fourth episode is like tomorrow
