See AllThe Acolyte Episode 5 Makes The Review Bombing & Backlash Look So Much Worse
So this article's point is that people prematurely gave bad reviews and should have waited, because this has saber fights finally? Except it completely ignores the atrocious writing and set up that led to this fight makes no sense logically, someone is toeing the company line here...
Ignore the bad mystery reveal
Ignore the knights outclassed by a child in her first fight
Ignore moths ignoring saber light in favor of flashlight light - or that he is OP vs Jedi but unable to defend vs moths
Ignore the parent trap
Ignore the burnt hair smell
Ignore yet another heel turn before her kalnacka's herbal tea got cold
I can appreciate A cool series of fights without being distracted enough by the shiny objects dangling in front of my eyes to forgive the flaws that clearly reign supreme over this show
Star Wars Introduces A New Sith Lightsaber That Really Does Break All The Rules
If you enjoy this I'm truly happy for you.
For me, this show has too many plot holes, flip flopping characters, and questionable dialog scenes that makes me wonder who I'm supposed to be rooting for here - - in a SW show it's usually a layup - so forgive me if their point is in trying to change perceptions, but what is the end game? By the end of the episode i was happy most ppl were dead, cringing at parent trap scenario and rooting for a badger to sniff out the truth, after one of the most obvious reveals in whodunit history, scooby doo did better at hiding villains
I struggle to think this is going to attract new fans to the SW fandom, instead of alienating existing ones, and giving SW haters rocket fuel in their debates about why SW is dying/struggling/done
The Acolyte Episode 5 Is The Biggest Jedi Massacre Since Revenge Of The Sith
Respectfully, I feel like I watched a different episode than this reviewer... as much as he is enthralled by the fights, I was disappointed. Too many gaps could have been exploited but weren't, all to make him seem unbeatable, THEN, Osha can sneak up on him and stash a flashlight onto his back? And you think THAT is outsmarting him? What about the fact that Sol has sensed dark presence at least 4 times now but didn't act with any precautions, he can read minds better then most or at least the show made it seem that way, he even read Mae previously, so now he must be so distraught that he can't tell it's not Osha at the end? Weak, SW parent trap is not inspired or remotely intriguing, and my only guess about Qimir is that he's yet another force child brother of Osha n Mae.
The positives were some of the scenes with Jecki as she seemed to be able to actually handle the coordination in the fights.
The sith actually said he was Sith, which just makes me question Ep1 but whatever...at least they owned that.
thats all the positives
Yord was so forgettable they couldn't even let him die with honor, his last act was to disobey Sol and get his neck snapped (because of course if he doesn't we can't get the swap)
but after he whined about the smilo ren not fighting by the code of honor or whatever I kinda wanted him to be dispatched... and thats my greatest gripe with the show... why is the goal (seemingly) to make me root for the sith?
The force pull of the saber by Mae literally made me giggle it was so janky, I can only assume they had time for 1 take. But that was outdone by her cutting her hair with it and completing her master disguise, because, I GUESS SHE'S EVIL AGAIN? Idk maybe that is the real mystery, will Mae be good or evil, stay tuned to see is Bazil can save the day where the Jedi repeatedly fail - ugh
