See AllDoctor Who Confirms The Show's New River Song, But Only If Season 16 Happens
I loved the River Song story line because it was a nice romantic type story. I just don't get why the Doctor has to have a romantic love interest. In the original series all of the female companions loved the Doctor, as a very dear friend. The new series seems to have to have a romantic love interest for each Doctor. I grew up watching the originals, 1 thru 3 in reruns, and always thought of the Doctor as more of a non sexual entity, a mentor and friend, and not someone you wanted to hop in bed with. Doctor Who is a science fiction series, not a soap opera.
Doctor Who Retcons Omega 42 Years After His Last Appearance
I don't really care for the "Gods" storyline. The only one that was really a God was Sutekh. Omega is dead. They are really going out on a limb by trying to bring back too many old adversaries. Many of whom were either destroyed or banished. Next they'll be bringing back the Meddling Monk or the Fendahl as gods. And an IMO: The end of the Sutekh story did not make sense. Bringing death to what's already dead does not cancel everything out.
