See AllI'd Love To See Godzilla Minus One's Director Take Over The Monsterverse Franchise Now
I liked the MonsterVerse films especially the 2014 reboot and the Apple + series starring Kurt Russell and Anna SawaI. But Godzilla - 1.0 captures the soul, psyche, and heart of post WWII Japan and the Japanese people better than anything I can . It subtly and correctly identifies Tojo’s junta as the internal destroyer of Japan’s trust, will, and strength of character. Using Godzilla as an appropriate villain, the Japanese Navy as individuals and a team get to rise up and defend Japan against an immense nuclear threat. And they do it in an entertaining popcorn movie. I hope to see more Takashi Yamazaki films, but I am not sure if he is a good fit for MonsterVerse unless he can follow his vision.
