"Nobody gets left behind"... Except for Lilo, apparently. If the solution was to leave her with the neighbor, then why was she struggling so much to begin with? Why didn't she ask the neighbor to watch Lilo while she worked? Was that old lady unavailable? Or, did she just allow two young sisters to struggle that much until she saw terrible consequences? She shoved college applications in Nani's face, but didn't bother to offer to sit Lilo so that Nani could attend college and make a better life for the both of them. Nani was fired from multiple jobs, had to leave her sister unattended for a while, and was severely stressed, but the old lady didn't think to do more for the both of them sooner? I definitely would never put myself before my siblings (in fact, I raised them all), but Nani isn't the only selfish one.

My sister spent $100 to take the whole family to see this movie that says "f*ck ohana". Movie made me feel brain-dead the whole time. You not only saved money, you saved some brain cells.

Love this anime. I have it on DVD and it's definitely due for a rewatch. Aisha Clan Clan and Tsubaki (I apologize if these are the wrong names because I can hardly the characters' names) were my favorite characters.
