The promised Neverland is what happens when you adapt lord of the rings fellowship faithfully. Then proceed to gut the entirety of two towers and most of return of the king and only adapting spoilers of the last few chapters of return of the king. In a situation where they couldn't get enough episodes to adapt it faithfully The second season would have been infinitely better had it thrown out the entirety of the later parts of the manga and just an anime original story instead of gutting 70% of the story and adapting the last arc without all the context the missing arcs provide.

Promised Neverland was the adaptation equivalent of adapting lord of the rings fellowship fantasticaly but then proceeding to gut the two towers and 60% of return of the king leaving in only the frodo and sam in Mordor parts and because this adaptation omitted gollum the final battle is just a nonsensical swordfight where frodo curbstomps sauron and then the aftermath is frodo flipping through a book of everything the adaptation skipped.

I guarantee you nobody who is advocating for this series to be banned has actually read the series. Because this story is easily one of the most positive and uplifting series I ever experienced and all these criticisms these people are throwing at it can be easily be debunked by any short summary that spoils the plot. You would have to be absolutely heartless to not cry during the ending.
