The Burton and Schumacher suits were NOT comics accurate. Batman was still in blue and gray in the early 90's, it wasn't until 1995 and the Troika suit that he went all black. I wish my old copies of Wizard weren't in storage, I'd provide direct quotes of the editors saying they specifically wouldn't be moving to the black suit even after the success of Batman 1989.
The same reason this entire travesty of a project got made. Nobody stood up and asked, "But, should we be doing this?"

Such an absolute waste of an intriguing concept. What if the Federation didn't take the moral high ground? Section 31 does the stuff Starfleet can't. Cool! What morally dubious mission will they be taking? Assassination of an alien leader? Stealing a culturally significant relic because of its potential danger to the Federation? Infiltration of a crime syndicate? No. Retrieving a stolen weapon while in disguise. Picard did it. Sisko did it. Janeway, Archer, and Burnham all did it under the Federation flag. Why was Section 31 needed? Answer: They weren't. Lazy writing.
And what was the deal with the final scene? Everyone laughing and winking. It was a trope-y 1980s comedy ending. I'm absolutely surprised they didn't slow-motion jump into a high-five and a freeze-frame.
Or, hear me out, Muschietti didn't care about The Flash, and because his heart wasn't in it, he allowed meddling by Zaslav, who has made disastrous decision after disastrous decision. A poor script was approved, delays in production caused the core audience to become fatigued, and there was just a general dislike of the whole Snyderverse. Just saying.
That, and Ezra, in trying to be this generation's Johnny Depp, alienated massive amounts of the global population.
I like the character, but I have been saying for decades that Wolverine is overrated. There is no suspense or danger for the character; he always gets back up. He was at the heart of an atomic blast and regenerated/healed from a single cell, with his adamantium skeleton somehow. Say what you will about Superman, but he has kryptonite. There is, although small, a risk that he won't get back up someday.
Why wouldn't Jean give him a second look? Too hairy? The drinking problem? The smell? Is Logan not paper trained? Tall women don't like short men?
Batman: The Animated Series is a bit of a stretch. It was informed by pulp noir serials, both print and film; Philip Marlowe in a cap and cowl.
Batman (1989) was heavily influenced by the maturing storytelling of the comics during the early to mid-1980s. If anything, it is Burton's interpretation of Neal Adams' artwork from the era leading up to 1989.
