See All10 Saturday Morning Cartoons From The 1980s That Every Kid Was Obsessed With
Ugh, yet another person who doesn't know the difference between Saturday Morning and first-run syndication. The cartoons shown In the thumbnail, Inspector Gadget and Ducktales, were both first-run syndication. So was Transformers and He-Man. Two of the cartoons on the list, Real Ghostbusters and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, were actually featured in both syndication and Saturday Mornings. You can tell what seasons were Saturday Mornings, and which were first run syndication. The number of episodes would be far fewer in a Saturday morning run than they would for a syndication rub, especially since they were only featured once a week. Take a show like He-Man. Did you know there's only two seasons of He-Man, yet there are 130 episodes in those two seasons? Also take a look at the quality in the animation for a show that was in syndication as opposed to a show on Saturday mornings. The syndication shows had far less quality than Saturday morning shows. That was because there was a higher demand for episodes, but you had the same budget, and in many cases a lower budget than you did for a Saturday morning show. So you had more quantity but less quality in the shows. Anyway, sorry for the rant. Just wanted to be clear about what was considered a Saturday morning cartoon and what was considered first-run syndication because there ARE differences between the two.
