It's interesting how the same people who look at the fictional characters in this game and make up reasons for why they are racist will also look at race swapped characters in other games and ask why people are upset since it's fictional.

Even if folks didn't want to research what inspired the drow, all anyone needs to do is look at their origin in D&D itself. They were a group of elves who were taken underground and corrupted by an evil deity. If any parallels are made between that and the real world, it should be that we are shaped by our environment and upbringing...not by birth. But apparently that doesn't score any political points so we can't do that.
