My version is a little different. At the last stop Alexandra heeds the clerks warning and instead insists she boards the train in Sheridan. She reunites with Spencer on the train. He goes to the ranch and deals with the war. Alex and Jacob follow. Alex has the baby months later and it’s a wonderful fairy tale of all of them together with Cara and Alex and Spencer and Jacob running the ranch and raising baby John. I prefer a happy ending. Alex and Spencer deserved that.
