See AllStar Trek Teases the Return of One of Its Most Controversial Characters
I think that a big reason that Dr. Pulaski was disliked by so many Trek fans is that they were angry at the TNG producers over Gates McFadden's contract dispute, and they took it out on Pulaski or maybe even a bit on Diana Muldaur. Another weak point is the ending monologue (narrated by none other than Robert Mitchum!), which implies that Wyatt and Josephine lived happily ever after. Hardly; Josephine developed an addiction to gambling and often the couple could not even afford to eat due to her gambling losses. They also reportedly fought a lot.

Not to mention, as soon as Checkov realized what was going on, he and Terell should have beamed up to the Enterprise immediately. They had time.
Also, Khan ed Checkov, but the character Checkov was not in the "Space Seed" episode from the series.
