I was trying to reply to Cory’s comment about the Chief Stew runs the whole boat & is over the Chef, however I was unable to reply. What you said is incorrect. The Chief Stew is not in charge of the whole boat & is definitely not the boss of the Chief. 

Here is the hierarchy: Captain, Chief Engineer, First Officer, First Officer/Bosun (if BD has a 1st Officer we don’t generally see them), Chief Stew, Chef, then various deck & interior teams. In one season of BDMD, when Captain Sandy was going to fire Hannah & she said that she didn’t have a 1st Officer & so that made the Chef the next highest on the boat that could be the witness, but I can’t if he had to sign anything. This makes me unsure where the Chef fits in, but I know for sure that the Chef Stew is not in charge of the Chef. Please note that I am only commenting on the BD franchise only. The Chef, Chief Stew, & Bosun report directly to the Captain. The Chef is in charge of all of the galley. The Chief Stew is in charge of all of the entire interior, except for the galley, & respective Stews. I don’t think it is right to not assign a Stew 1 & 2 because that puts a kink in the 

hierarchy & causes dissension among them. The Bosun is in charge of the exterior of the boat & all deckhands. They also in charge of picking a lead deckhand. 

He is long past giving chances. He isn’t going to listen to anyone because he is pompous and is a narcissist. His actions & words after he was chastised for going off & swimming with the guest’s showed how disrespectful he can be. He didn’t even bother to check with the captain to see if it was ok. Every captain is different & even though other captain’s he worked for were ok with things like that, he shouldn’t assume all captain’s are.
