See AllThe Lord Of The Rings Movies' Controversial Faramir Change Misses The Point Of His Character
In nearly every aspect, Jackson's choices either were faithful to the book or made sense (e.g., having Arwen rescue Frodo and thus develop her character rather than introducing Glorfindel, who plays no other role) with the shocking exception of his complete miss on how he handled Faramir during Frodo and Sam's time with him. I can think of no reason whatsoever for that glaring misstep. Faramir gave us faith that there was strength and goodness in men. His portrayal in the movie is shockingly weakened. Why Peter, why?
