A pre-order is not guaranteed. They will send you a purchases invite eventually, but some may go out after launch. Just depends on the volume. There's still hope though. I imagine many of the people who signed up also secured pre-orders elsewhere, so it's just taking a bit of time to churn through the list.

I don't see my lengthy comment anymore, either. It pointed out evidence against the theory mentioned in the article, but it was done thoughtfully and respectfully. I wonder if there's a problem with the comment system?

They've certainly leaned into the idea that Jenova could take the form of a loved one far more heavily than they did in the original game. Personally, I think it's a red herring to try to insert some "mystery" into a story we're already familiar with. But I wouldn't be surprised if they continued to hint at it. I would be disappointed if became too relevant to the story though.

Maybe post it again? I'd be curious to hear your thoughts. The article does feels a little disingenuous, like maybe it was written just to add content, rather than to contribute a valid theory.

We get a lot of movies about people who want to be good being tempted to be bad. I was excited for once to see the opposite: a Ben Solo who wanted to be bad but ultimately lost out to his good instincts. The movies were not as interested in this and did a poor job of handling it.

The main problem with the yellow paint is that it just looks bad. Remake/Rebirth use glowing blue arrows to indicate other areas of the environment that you can interact with, which is helpful and preserves the design of the world. Perhaps a similar approach could have improved climbing sections, if used carefully.

I will say that I did appreciate the yellow paint when replaying on hard mode. I was less interested in exploration on subsequent playthroughs.
