Yes, he can do whatever he wants to his own movies but to pretend the original theatrical releases don’t even exist shows a total lack of artistic integrity and a complete disrespect of the fans. I am one of those kids who stood in line back in 1977, when it was just Star Wars and not A New Hope. He owes something to people like me who paid for Skywalker ranch. We deserve access to the movies we fell in love with as children. And in my opinion there is not a single positive change in the special editions. Not one. Han shot first and this is not a minor detail. It completely changes the character and cheapens his return at the end. I could write a scholarly thesis on the subject but this is not the venue.
