See AllPrometheus’ Most Confusing Mystery Has Finally Been Solved After 13 Years, But Ridley Scott’s Alien Prequel Story Shouldn’t Be Over Yet
I enjoyed all the Aliens movies to varying degrees. Except maybe 3. On a second viewing, some thirty years after seeing it on release, even this movie has it's good points. What amazes me is how seriously "critics" take the importance of "timelines"? It's fiction for goodness sake! Half the people watching the latest movie probably weren't alive for the first instalment! AvP movies I didn't even take seriously as part of the franchise. Just bubblegum SciFi horror that was entertaining enough. Outside the first two movies, Prometheus and covenant were the best. Great cast, great effects, strong plot lines. No, they weren't perfect, but how many perfect SciFi horror movies actually exist? I don't actually care that they took the story in a different direction. They would have worked well as stand alone movies outside the Aliens universe, and that's probably how they are best viewed. I'd love to see this trilogy completed. I just enjoy being entertained, not being told a movie is bad because the timelines in a fictional universe don't add up!

Romulus was entertaining and worth a watch, but on reflection, Ridley Scott is correct, the shock impact of the Xenomorph has dissipated.
Why Alien: Covenant Made So Much Less Than Prometheus At The Box Office
I enjoyed "Covenant" and would like the storyline completed. The film began strongly and I especially liked the storyline up to and around "first ". As the story progresses to the expose' I wasn't as engaged, but the finale was also very good and the cliffhanger ending. The movie is definitely top of it's genre when compared to other offerings.
10 Great Sci-Fi Movie Twists We'll Forever
Personally, I found Arrival so ponderous any plot twist was never going to rescue it. Empire was a children's movie. Sure that particular movie had a surprise ending but the whole franchise is too light to be taken seriously. Planet of the apes should be number 1.

Seeing as all these movies were made during the time of the USSR, would that be relevant? Maybe you lived in the USSR?
James Cameron Says Parts Of Terminator Are "Cringeworthy" But Defends One Criticized Element Still
I saw Terminator back when it was released knowing nothing about it. Never seen a trailer, didn't even know what genre. Arrived in town on Saturday night after working with a forestry crew away from civilisation for a couple of months and was totally engrossed by it. Knowing nothing beforehand made the movie a amazing watch.
