Given the release timeline and the fact that they're working on 3 and 4 concurrently, I can't imagine they would pivot the story too drastically based on the responses to Disney's 2025's releases. Plus, Jennifer Lee wrote the first two installments, so I feel like she has a good idea about what works with this franchise. It's worth noting, too, that if they want to take the reception to recent animated Disney movies into they can do that for releases from 2022, 2023, 2024, etc. instead of waiting to see how things shake out this year.

Didn't say it was so-so! I really like the movie, it's just not generally considered among Spielberg's absolute best when there are also movies like Raiders, Jaws, Jurassic to pick from
