Couple of things. Sunnydale didn’t exist anymore by the end of the last episode. It was a giant sinkhole. If the revival is based in Sunnydale, it will be a newly built Sunnydale with buildings we don’t recognize.

Reboots tell the same story as before with new actors. This is a revival or a sequel, not a reboot.
