Being disabled in 1924 is much, much different than it is today. Even today the disabled community can barely get the and resources needed.

I think when she said she wasn't a dreamer she meant, there was no life handicapped. In her eyes she could be a proper mother or proper wife. Traveling or running a ranch she wouldn't be able to do. Running a house hold which is what women did then, she wouldn't have been able to do.

I'm co.pletely disappointed in Nick. He didn't have to give up the complete plan. He could have easily said there was a rumored and he went to check it out. He could even had mentioned they were writing letters, they would have done a clean sweep and I'm sure would have found some. He didn't think of anyone but himself in a selfish manner. June has done many things selfishly but it was to help. In her mind it was to help and fix things. He just wanted to save his own skin. He doesn't deserve a life with June.
