I have been a Tolkien fan since I read the Hobbit in grade 10 English class, he's been my favorite author. Now there have been mention some good authors but I've noticed no one ever say's anything about people like Dennis L. Mckiernan. His Mithgar series is outstanding, he has created a rich and unique world with the Elven and Dwarf cultures and the other creatures of fairie folk. Read in order,the books are interconnected in events and wrap up in the last book.

Elizabeth Moon's the Deeds of Paksenarrion is another fantastic work of art, I think its an awesome read.
