A war between The Borg & Species 8479 would make an excellent feature film. Here's how to do it...

A new movie featuring a team up between VOYAGER & the DS9 crew & important cameos from TNG & even a pusedo flashback to the TOS crew to get help from a powerful species they encountered like the Metrones or assistance from Dr. Richard Daystrum.

The BORG/8479 war should spill into the federation as fluidic space becomes threatened. The Dominion war should seem small in comparison.

A return to the Delta quadrant through the DS9 wormhole or other "scientific advances" being led by the now "experienced" Voyager crew.

WAR opens up every storytelling possibility conceivable & these two species are so dangerous it unites nearly all the Alpha & Gamma & Delta quadrant species & planets to contain it. Any one of the original actors, Kirk, Picard, Janeway, Sisko, could be the head of Star Fleet Command.

Like all fiction this could be done with a new younger cast where necessary & even in a different timeline. It's about the Ships, Stations, Star Fleet, and the Captains.

Although we wish it could be the actors from series we'd all get over it if the story & characters are great. Even giving the living original actors appearances as "new" characters.

This works even after the excellent PICARD series & is a grand way to breathe new life into our old heroes & shows.

Superman, Batman, Spider-Man etc do this level of reimagi& inventive storytelling all the time. 🤷🏾‍♂🤯🤷🏾‍♂

The CW Network should put a seven season commitment on the table for LEGACY & let's do it. Open with a 3 part series launch episode that establishes the 7 of 9 led crew & the Enterprise G as heroes. Introduce a new villain or continue with the changeling as well as revisit species 8479 as an ally & enemy. Give a good mix of the familiar & the new & create an instant hit. As Lavar said it makes sense. Do what the viewers want for a change & all else will follow. -rwj-
