Made an literally to comment on this, I really don't know where everyone is getting the setting down the controller thing. I play on PS5 and the monsters have always targeted me quite viciously. I just tested this with chatacabra, quematrice, balahara and arkveld and the only reason they ever didn't attack me is because they instead attacked my palico, and the only one that held up was quematrice because my cat did a taunt. If you're mid battle with other people it's not an issue of the monsters not attacking you but rather the fact that monsters are more likely to target those doing more damage. Also I just went back to world right before the release of wilds and it was pretty easy, even captured myself a bazelgeuse with low rank armor. I've genuinely had more trouble with doshaguma than almost any base world monster. So either I'm the only one who's having a good time with base wilds' difficulty or y'all forgot what base world was like.
