1000%! YES!! I read the books around 1988, and was hooked. The War of the Lance quadrilogy; the Test of the Twins trilogy, and all the standalone books have a depth of story, few can recreate nowadays.

The history of the planet Krynn, is so well thought out; the characters have such a depth to them. This was the first book I ever read that brought tears to my eyes!

The ONLY difficulty I see is doing the series justice. You could make a TV series, or movie, but unless it gets a FULL backing and treatment by whichever studio picks it up - and I mean something akin to the LOTR / Hobbit films - it will struggle to succeed.

I for one, would love to see it brought to life!
