See AllRoscoe's Reacher Season 3 Return Looks Less Likely After New Romance Confirmation
So. It's getting kind of tiresome to hear about rascal coming back from the season before to make an appearance in the new season. Before the show even became a show I was an avid fan of the books. To have a romance from the past show turn up in the new season is against everything the books laid out as far as character. That's part of what makes reacher reacher. The man is a lone traveler. He doesn't have romances that stick around that's part of his character. One of the good things about the series of books is that you don't really need to read them in a particular order. You're not really missing anything if you pick up any book throughout the whole time frame and just read it. There's very few recurring characters and that's part of its magic. The reader books are not romance novels nor were they ever intended to be.. I think I was 25 when I picked up my first reader book maybe 30. And the thing that kicked me on the first paragraph of the first page was how he walked into a room and hand it to some guy and that's why I loved it. it's not about his previous lovers and him lovingly thinking about the past. just the fact of bringing back that black dude for a cameo in the last season was breaking with the reacher storyline. I know this is my personal opinion but for the screenwriters to break character like that is not a good thing in my mind. The first paragraph of the first book I read in this series I do is to make a great show. It's not a first text to know that this character would be great on the screen. As I said goes if it's not broke don't try to fix it. You reach your storyline as far as the books go hold their own weight you can make great movies and or TV shows out of just the books without having to stretch anything without having to change anything without having to try to bring in different audiences to make it more widely acceptable. There is a place and there is an audience built in. Nothing needs to change.

Well put. It is actually getting to be a bit tiring having to have the perfectly well represented cast in every single show no matter what genre.
