That's all very good and logical. Yes Maverick has to play the persona who has matured to a certain level. But problem is, none of us want to see a topgun sequel where Tom is not in the epicenter of the action! If it doesn't revolve around and highlight Maverick, its not it!! That too, not with Maverick standing behind a desk. So sequel must work out and audacious high level plot for a high level engagement aka Maverick style. I mean who wants a 007 film where Bond is mentoring other double ohs from his office desk???
