The Batman ain't going any where. It's WB's only confirmed hit right now. James Gunn MIGHT succeed with Superman, but that hasn't happened yet. There is no DCU if Superman doesn't hit a home run. Also James Gunn likes to overstate his position a bit. He has zero say so with The Batman. That's not how it works. If he was to try and shutter DC's biggest franchise, he'd be fired.

Can a franchise which has repeatedly dominated the box office be a sleeper hit? It's opening weekend was well over 100 million. Just because critics have fought to tank the Venom franchise really doesn't mean much. The genera audience loves it.
The Penguin Season 2 Chances Addressed By DC Showrunner After Ratings Success
There can't be a Penguin Season 2. They already explained that the first season bumps directly into The Batman Part 2, so they'll need a different character and rewind or wait till part 2 is out. I'd personally like to see what other characters are up to. Personally I'd like to see Bane's origin. Venom was already introduced, so he's out there. That or Poison Ivy. It'd be cool if she made created Bliss.

As a long time Bethesda fan and mod author, I 100% agree with all of this. Not only have they not advanced, but much of Starfield's gameplay is a step backwards from Fallout 4. Though I was intrigued by Starfields story, the actual execution was terrible as well, and they seem oblivious to this.

Starfield's problem is that it isn't a good game. It's poorly written, and the game design is lazy. You can't patch that up. Cyberpunk 2077 was always a good game, it was just buried under bugs. Once patched it's quality shined through.
